Kāhu are found throughout the motu, country. Spying a kāhu as
it circles lazily over a pastoral field while on a long drive
brings nature lovers great joy.
Kāhu prey on rabbits, rodents, mustelids and smaller birds
but are also scavengers. Especially in the winter when
food sources become scarce kāhu will eat roadkill.
